I am about to build an LCD projector, like the ones on lumenlab.com. But I do not like the heat and energy required. So I propose using an extremely bright screw in Flourescent from 1000bulbs.com and using many mirrors. If someone has tried this please let me know. thetruthhurts1281@yahoo.com

A Flourescent bulb will never work right, it would never put out enough light to projct an image na the colo is all wrong, a mtal alide light is the way to go, Iused a metal halide in my DIY pojector (email me for some pics) and it runs cool uses ess power than a regular incandescent becase they are amoung some of the most efficient ligh sources available and produces a ver bright pcture with awesome color rendering.

DIYS Enthusiasts ! COLLAPSIBLE PORTABLE AND CHEAP CRT
PROJECTOR

This is a Real Handy CRT projector or TV projector and can be called Dark Room Projector which was devised by me combining different techniques available. It saves alot of energy by avoiding high wattage lights and even making us to switch off the light in room !. In my(DIYS) projector a
10" dia large round Fresnel projection lens(or twin lenses) makes use of the whole light of the TV in to large screen theatre.Very handy and portable because the BOX is light weight collapsible bellow with collapsible link. You have to use Silver screen (painted or sheet)with high GIAIN for better Picture Capture on the screen. It will be fabricated as per requirement such as TV size which is very important. Or i can supply lenses and design Know How free. Seeing the attached illustrative pictures you can fabricate one of your own. Mail me or call for development stage pictures and components

I used a 15" porta scribe $12,
7" portable dvd player used $30
had A/V & s-video inputs it gives me a 48"x60" display great for movies fuzzy for x-box360.a 15"xga lcd would do well for games, but the portable dvd player makes it more of a freestanding unit(dont need pc connected)
